Liberty Bell Telecom was formed by Consumer Advocate Tom Martino because he was sick and tired of Qwest. He wanted to offer local and long distance phone service at affordable rates and set a new standard for customer service. The transition to Liberty Bell Telecom is seamless without any interruption in service and without the need to change your phone numbers. In essence, Liberty Bell Telecom is still using the Qwest Infrastructure to deliver service. However, all customer service, billing and problem solving is handled by Liberty Bell Telecom. Liberty Bell Telecom customers never have to deal with Qwest again. Through a series of court rulings and FCC guidelines, Qwest and other big phone companies are forced to lease their lines at preferential rates to competitors. Tom Martino has taken advantage of these new developments to pass savings on to customers. He believes, as many consumer advocates do, that Qwest has had a monopoly for too long!
